Valley View Equestrian is a horse riding and training facility located in West Mountain, Utah (west of Payson).  Emphasizing a fun, professional experience, Valley View Equestrian offers equine riding lessons for children (age 7+), teens and adults focusing on many disciplines including: dressage, eventing and hunter-jumper. Individual and group lessons are available and dedicated riders can join the Valley View Equestrian Team for a more committed and competitive experience. Throughout the year Valley View Equestrian puts on several Pony Camps, including a four-day summer camp each year in July. Our facilities are located in the gorgeous West Mountain area overlooking the Utah Valley. To better serve the needs of our riders we offer affordable horse boarding and leasing programs. The barn area features a full riding arena, an outdoor cross country jump course, a tacking/washing area, tack storage barn, pens and pasture area.

There are TONS of opportunities to show coming up! I hope most, if not all, of you are planning to compete at least a little this year. Shows are a great way to test you and your horse's skills and set and meet goals. Even if you only compete at Valley View, shows help challenge you to practice what you're learning in lessons. 

I encourage all of you to make short and long term showing goals for this year. Here is a list of some great shows coming up that you can set your goals on.

What: Pegasus Mini Event 
When: May 3
Where: Grantsville, UT
Classes/Type: This is a 3-phase event, which requires dressage, show jumping, and cross-country. Perfect for testing your skills in multiple disciplines. 

What: Valley View Hunter/Jumper Schooling Show
When: May 17
Where: Valley View Equestrian
Classes/Type: Walk/trot and walk/trot canter classes as well as jumping classes from trot poles to 2'6". A great way to kick-off the show season at home!

What: Zephyr Ranch Hunter/Jumper Fun Show 
When: May 24
Where: Salem, UT
Classes/Type: Flat and jumping classes in hunters and jumpers. Jump around a course at a different barn that's still close to home!

What: 3 Peas in a Pony 2-Phase 
When: May 31
Where: Heber, UT
Classes/Type: Riders must ride a dressage test and a stadium jumping round. If you or your pony aren't quite ready for all 3 phases, this is a fantastic way to get experience.

What: Chicken Event
When: June 7
Where: Ogden, UT
Classes/Type: 3-phase event requiring dressage, stadium jumping, and cross-country. Challenging but fun!
