training & instruction

Kate Healey is an experienced, certified instructor with a focus on the relationship between horse and rider. Riding lessons focus on the student’s individual goals, without over-emphasis on or pressure for competition. Riders and horses learn and grow at their own pace, with the goal of building a strong bond between horse and rider. Kate emphasizes a harmonious relationship through dressage principles and building confidence with jumping.

Instruction and coaching is available in a variety of equestrian sports. While Kate’s main instructional focus is Eventing (dressage, jumping and cross-country), instruction is also available for dressage and show jumping. We also incorporate natural horsemanship and groundwork training into our instruction. Whether you are new to equestrian sports and want to explore exciting possibilities with your horse, or you an experienced Eventer, dressage rider or jumper, Kate can help you improve your communication with your horse and make your goals a reality.

All instruction is offered for those who have their own horse or access to their own mount. Lesson horses are not available.

Instruction is available at your facility (must be cleared by owner of facility) or for trailer-in lessons at our outdoor arena at Valley View. Additionally, Kate is available for cross-country instruction at Skyline Eventing Park or Golden Spike Events Center upon request (must be scheduled 3 weeks in advance).
